This Erasmus+ project is about Governance, Quality, Accountability: A Piloting Reform Process in Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The project number is: 618781-EPP-1-2020-1-IT-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP. The project started in January 2021 and will continue until January 2024. This program is funded by the European Union in the framework of the Capacity Building for Higher Education.
Eight Kurdish Universities, four European universities , UNIMED and MOHER are involved in the implementation of the project. They are:

In this project, top managers, university leaders and decision-makers from HEIs in Kurdistan region of Iraq: they need to be up skilled on university management, strategic planning, quality assurance and credits recognition in order to properly manage the governance and strategic planning of each involved University. Skills and knowledge on innovative governance practices and strategic planning topics will be developed in a perspective of durable further improvement. The CBHE action will strengthen of innovative governance practices at the level of the overall institutions, making HEIs in Kurdistan region of Iraq more attractive for international students. The final aim is to improve (in the framework of Bologna process) innovative governance practices (reform of the management structure of the ministry and HEIs) and introduces dynamic, democratic and accountable systems. The project is directed and coordinated by UNIMED, ROME-ITALY.
The APPRAIS project consist of eight work packages ( workplans) which are:

WP4: Bologna process implementation at KRI Universities: Recognition of credits and learning mobility; working out by University of Murcia/Spain+ Zakho University
WP5: Restitution and harmonization phase towards a Shared Strategic Plan for University Reform; working out by MHESR + Garmian University
WP6: Project Quality and Evaluation;working out by Salahaddin University+ University of Halabja
WP7: Dissemination and Exploitation; working out by UNIMED + Duhok Polytechnic University
WP8: Management -Operational, administrative and financial management; working out by UNIMED
